The Children Castle

The Children Castle presents a variety for everyone.

The Castle Workshop 2007
Every day June 25th to August 10th
12 to 5 p.m. in ”Lilla borggården” (the Old Castle Yard)
In the workshop you can try your hands at the handicraft and needlework of former days and learn the games and plays of the past. You can decorate a shield of your own, make wax candles or a fragrance bag, which according to old popular belief can protect its owner from all evil. And just outside, Duke Valdemar´s wooden horse stands saddled and ready for exciting rides!

Guided Tours for Families with Young Children

Every day June 25th August 10th, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Gathering at the tree on the outer bulwark.

Knights School
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 26th to August 9th, 12 and 3 p.m.
Per child 50.00 SEK. No booking required.
The year is 1318, and Duchess Ingeborg has just been told that she is a widow.
Duke Valdemar´s brother, the King, had killed her husband at a banquet at Nyköping. Her brave knights have moved off to take revenge for the death of the Duke, and there are only two knights left at the Castle of Borgholm – the Right Honourable Sigmund af Horn and Charles Tyske. These two warriors will help the Duchess to train new squires for her defence. Be dubbed a knight of Borgholm Castle by Duchess Ingeborg, after a thorough training in the virtues of chivalry and the use of weapons.
The work in the Castle Workshop goes on as usual.
The Knights School can also be booked for groups.
