Borgholm Castle is always worth a visit. If you wish to do something extra when you are visiting us, here are a couple of suggestions:

Practical Archaeology for Children
During the autumn of 2004 a new venture with pedagogical activities was started at Borgholm Castle, directed to schools in the first place. The
introduction was made in connection with the archaeological excavations done at the castle in September to November 2004. During the school year 2004–2005 Borgholm Castle can offer special programmes aimed at archaeology. Each group will be conducted round the castle and its surroundings, from an archaeological viewpoint. The group can then participate actively in the archaeological investigation by carefully helping to sieve the soil from the excavations and looking after the contents. Through the finds and an inventory of the environment we try to reconstruct the Borgholm of the Middle Ages. How long have human beings lived here? What traces of them can be seen today? How can you “read” the landscape?
Price, Practical Archaeology: 500.00 SEK per class or group. The demonstration takes about 2.5 hours including a break for the sandwiches you bring with you.

Local Heroes, Famous Residents
Would you dare to visit the Castle when darkness has fallen over the walls and its former residents are turning back? A guided tour out of the ordinary, down to the dungeon, cellars and dark corners of the castle. Listen to true and tall stories from the long history of the castle and meet the people that lived there a long, long time ago.
Price, Local Heroes, Famous Residents: 2,000.00 SEK + 50.00 SEK per person. Groups minimum 30 / maximum 100.
